Introduction To Laughter Yoga (Public Awareness Seminar)

The Introductory Laughter Yoga Seminar

The Introduction to Laughter Yoga (Public Awareness Seminar) is presented by Jeffrey Briar, author of The Great Big Anthology of Laughter Exercises and Master Trainer for Dr. Kataria’s Laughter Yoga International University.

 

The presentation offers a solid experience of the Laughter Yoga technology, as well as providing a satisfyingly thorough history of the Laughter Club phenomenon, and explanation of the benefits of Laughter For Health.

The program may include videos of the Laughter Yoga founder, Dr. Kataria of India, as well as Musical/Educational videos, PowerPoint and audio recordings.  The focus is on fun yet profound experiences in pro-active, heartfelt Laughter.

The seminar lasts one to two hours and can be delivered in virtually any location worldwide, indoors or out.

Laughter club

Laughter Yoga, known in India as Hasya Yoga, is the brainchild of Dr. Madan Kataria of Bombay, who developed an extensive system of breathing and laughing techniques whereby anyone and everyone can laugh, without need of comedy or even a sense of humor.  “Laughter may not solve your problems, but it can help dissolve your problems,” says Dr. Kataria.  There are now thousands of Laughter Clubs throughout the world, with over 10,000 in India alone.

Laughter has been scientifically proven to offer relief from stress, anxiety and depression; a stronger immune system; a gentle massage to the internal organs (improving blood circulation, digestion and elimination); enhanced creativity, increased self-confidence, and improved sleep patterns.

Laughter Yoga Teacher Jeffrey Briar trained with Dr. Kataria in Switzerland in May of 2005.  Mr. Briar soon became founder of The Laguna Laughter Club, the first laughter club in the world outside of India to meet seven days per week.  Club info can be found at www.JoyfulB.com.

Mr. Briar went on to establish The Laughter Yoga Institute, dedicated to sharing Laughter Yoga with the highest standards of teaching excellence throughout the world.

The good news,” Mr. Briar asserts, “is that anyone and everyone can laugh.  There is no need to feel good first, or even to have a sense of humor.  Just laugh to begin; the good feelings, lighthearted attitude and extensive health benefits naturally follow.  And besides that, it’s a whole lot of fun.”  Mr. Briar was featured on ABC-TV’s Dancing with the Stars and on the CNN-TV special Happiness and Your Health with Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

In 2010 Dr. Kataria appointed Jeffrey as a Master Trainer for Dr. Kataria’s Laughter Yoga International University, one of only a handful of people worldwide authorized to deliver the highest levels of education and training in the Laughter Yoga technique.
